Hello friends and family of the Jenneh Foundation!
It’s been awhile! Over the summer we set out with a goal to raise $7,000 to help send 30 kids to school for two semsters. The scholarship money was disbursed based on need. We were blessed by our community and were able to raise $2,128. Which meant that we could send 15 students to school! This September over 600 students were enrolled at JCISS! We are excited about this new school year and all that God has instore for each student and instructor.
Our big project this year will be adding a second story to one of our buildings. This second story will be created as a space to include a science lab, a larger computer classroom, and two all-purpose classrooms. We are excited to expand our school and the education of our students.
Lastly, General elections will be held on October 10th, 2017. During this time, the President and House of Representatives will be elected. The country is voting to replace Nobel Laureate Johnson-Seirleaf, who previously won Liberia’s first democratic election after the civil war ended in 2003. As a community, let us be in prayer for a peaceful election and that Liberia will continue elect a strong and committed leader, in hopes that they will guide them during difficult times.
Prayer is powerful and we are so excited for the changes that are to come for Liberia. We would appreciate prayer that construction goes smoothly, that all hands are on deck and that we continue to work together so we can work our best. For Liberia, we ask for prayer as they are choosing a leader. We ask that the leader is strong, courageous and has a heart for the people of Liberia.
